Exploring among the monks' skulls at Mount Athos, Greece
 |
| Brother Job, an Eastern Orthodox monk, conducts a ceremony in the Chartel room at Holy Skete Prophet Elias. | Photographer Dave Houser camps out at Skete Prophet Elias in the
Monastic Republic of Holy Mount Athos, Greece.

At Skete, Houser sees rows of skulls from monks who have died at the monastery. Each is inscribed on the forehead with just his name and dates of birth and death. Click to read: Exploring Mount Athos |
